Our Performance Program, Portico Dance Theatre engages the community by creating inventive, thought-provoking, relatable and original productions.
With at least one full length production every year, performances highlight current issues surrounding our community (and beyond) such as mental health awareness, women’s issues, the mentality of mobs and more. We strive to always be honest, authentic, raw, original, innovative, inspiring and collaborative.

A bold new interdisciplinary performance, Universal Theory, brings together contemporary dance and live orchestra in a sweeping exploration of the hidden patterns that shape our world. Blending mathematics, movement, and music into one immersive experience, Universal Theory transforms abstract equations into visceral art.
Through intricate choreography and a dynamic orchestral score, Universal Theory reveals the rhythm within symmetry, the harmony within proportion, and the tension within the chaos. Dancers embody mathematical principles-spirals, sequences, fractals, convergence-while the orchestra translates those same ideas into sweeping sonic landscapes.
Rather than presenting mathematics as distant or academic, Universal Theory invites audiences to experience it as something deeply human: a pulse, a pattern, a universal force connecting us all.
