Alicia Chesser
Instructor
Alicia Chesser started studying classical ballet in Tulsa at age 4 with Jane Reid, then continued with Moscelyne Larkin and Roman Jasinski, adding jazz, character dance, and dance history to the mix. During that time she performed with Tulsa Ballet as a company apprentice. She holds degrees in English and philosophy from the University of Tulsa. Her award-winning arts reviews, essays, and interviews have appeared in publications from New York City’s Village Voice to The Tulsa Voice, LUXIERE, and Root. Since 2010, Alicia’s collaborative, interdisciplinary work as a dancer, choreographer, curator, and director has been presented at venues such as Tulsa Ballet’s Studio K, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. She has served as artistic director for Tulsa Modern Movement, curated the Exchange Choreography Festival, taught advanced ballet at Jasinski Academy, and currently leads contemporary classes at Temple of Dance.
